TCBA GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL – December 2010

Once again, we have to thank Sue Reed and Whirlpool Corporation for stepping up and sponsoring this past month’s Bull N Brew for the TCBA and the Green Building/Remodelers Council. Building Officials from Fort Pierce and the City of Port St Lucie joined us for an informative session on what is happening in our local areas. Thanks again, Sue!

Typically, the association chapters and councils do not meet during the month of December, but we decided that we wanted to get together with like-minded folks on the Treasure Coast for an evening of networking and socializing. Thanks to Bob Cenk with Home Crete Homes, we will be holding a Networking event on Tuesday, December 7th at 5:30 PM at their model home located in Port St Lucie. While this event is free to attend, RSVP’s are required. If you would like to attend, please email your RSVP to cindy@capstoneindustries.net. Our next regular monthly meeting will be held at the TCBA offices on Tuesday, January 4th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Our guest speaker and sponsor will be Bob Ludlum from Aqua Dimensions. His presentation will Bob will be doing a presentation on the different types of water heating available from solar to tankless to heat pump systems. Our meetings are intended for Green Building/Remodeling Council Members and in order to make it easier for your company to participate, we have reduced our fees to $30.00 per year. Please be sure to go online and download an application or contact the TCBA and become a member today! • The Intl Builders Show Jan 12-15 in Orlando. There are 3 intensive green building education tracks being offered before the show and 23 green building short courses during the show. It’s not too late to register. Go to www.buildersshow.com for more information.
• MIAGreen Conference, the Green Convention of the Americas is scheduled for Mar 2-3 at the Miami Beach Convention center. Go to www.miagreen.com for more information. - Green Trends, the annual Conference of the Fla. Green Bldg Coalition is Jun 1-3 at the Plaza in Daytona Beach. • The 33rd Annual SE Bldrs Conference is calling for presenters for their conference that is being held July 21-23 at the Orange County Convention Center. Deadline for entries is Dec. 6, 2010. Go to www.fhba.com for more information on that.
